Amanda Conrad, Owner, R. Ac
Amanda has had a love for wellness for as long as she can remember. In 2014 she decided to pursue her own career in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. In 2016, she graduated from The Canadian College of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine and is now in her eighth year of practice. In 2022 she completed her course for Cosmetic Acupuncture and Facial Rejuvenation. In 2022 she graduated from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition (IIN) and is a certified Health Coach.
Amanda has a passion for treating women’s health and commonly sees patients for fertility concerns, IVF support, hormone regulation and pregnancy support. Amanda knows it is crucial to find the root cause of her patient’s concerns instead of giving them a band-aid solution.
In her spare time you can find her at the gym, with her dog, Grace, or at home reading a book. Amanda is always continuing to expand her knowledge and is excited to bring you new additions to her discipline in the future.
Cassandra Soucie, R.AC
In 2023, Cassandra graduated from the Canadian College of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine and is currently a member in good standing with CMAAC. She, as many others have, grew up seeing family and friends suffer from chronic conditions, which has been her motivation to seek out a more holistic approach to healing.
Cassandra has a passion for the body-mind connection - treating not only the physical ailments but the emotional aspects as well so that a person feels truly at peace and balanced. She strives to provide her patients with compassion and understanding, leaving them feeling seen, heard and truly enjoying their lives again. Cassandra is excited to join the Dartmouth Wellness Collective team to help provide the answers so many individuals crave in alternative healthcare.
Cassandra enjoys yoga, immersing herself in nature and spending time with her Bernese, Chip. Cassandra is a forever student, constantly learning new skills to incorporate in her treatments to better her patients.
Janelle Vemb, Administration
Janelle is our administration and the first face you will see when you come to The Dartmouth Wellness Collective. You can catch her smiling face at the reception desk and around the clinic.
She has been with The Dartmouth Wellness Collective since 2022 and is your main contact for anything administration related. From booking appointments to phone calls, emails and navigating our booking application, Janelle is your go-to.
Dr. Lindsay Barker, Doctor of Chiropractic
Dr. Lindsay Barker graduated from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto in 2017. Growing up playing competitive soccer and hockey, she always had exposure to Chiropractors helping her through various injuries. While pursuing her Doctor of Chiropractic degree, Dr. Lindsay also completed the Contemporary Medical Acupuncture program at McMaster University and received training in Mental Health First Aid. She is also certified in Activator technique, which is a gentle instrument assisted adjusting tool.
Dr. Lindsay is passionate about treating all populations from newborns to the elderly, and the weekend warriors to athletes. She has a special interest in headache care, as well as treating women both prenatally and postnatally. She believes that collaborative care is best to help patients achieve their optimal results and health goals. Dr. Lindsay likes to work alongside other health care practitioners to customize each treatment plan to fit her patients specific goals. She uses a combination of chiropractic adjustments, soft tissue therapy, neurofunctional acupuncture and patient-specific rehabilitation exercises to help her patients achieve their goals and feel better.
Dr. Lindsay is a member of the Canadian Chiropractic Association and the Nova Scotia College of Chiropractors. In 2023. She is also a preferred provider for the Partners in Canadian Veterans Rehabilitative Services.
When she is not at work- she enjoys spending time with her husband Dan and daughter Ava. She loves to go for walks around Dartmouth and enjoy the local farmers markets on the weekends.
Dr. Chelsea Gittens, Doctor of Chiropractic
Dr. Chelsea Gittens has recently moved back home to the East Coast after graduation and is excited to start serving her community as a Doctor of Chiropractic.
Her passion for Chiropractic care stemmed from her involvement in several sports throughout her life and the excellent chiropractic care she received with each injury she sustained.
Her approach is to help patients restore pain-free movement and their functional independence through a combination of manual therapy, rehabilitation, education, and reassurance. Chelsea is also a contemporary medical acupuncture provider.
In her spare time, Chelsea enjoys traveling, staying active, hiking, biking, and playing golf.
Melanie Faulkner, RMT
Melanie is a Registered Massage Therapist (2018), and RAPID NeuroFascial Reset Specialist (2023), who also holds a BSc in Biology (2013).
Melanie’s personal journey through life has fired her passion for human biology and the mind/body connection. She is determined to find answers and treat the root cause, to aide in healing the body as a whole.
Melanie’s practice is focused on pain, dysfunction, and bringing the brain to safety.
Special interests in Trauma, Acute Injuries, Neurodivergence, Chronic pain, hyper mobility & Complex cases.
Amber Harper, RMT
Amber is originally from Canmore, Alberta and moved to the Maritimes in 2009 to pursue her studies at Dalhousie University. She graduated from Dalhousie in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts in International Development Studies and Political Science. In 2019, Amber graduated from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy with Honours.
Amber is passionate about health care advocacy and providing a safer space for her patients. She continuously strives to make her table, and the health care field, more inclusive and accessible. She has volunteered time with various sporting and wellness/mental health events and spent much of her studies focusing on injury rehabilitation, sports massage, and the assessment of dysfunction.
Amber’s massage treatments are customized to each patient but are known for being rhythmically soothing with medium and firm pressure. She loves blending the science of healing with the art of massage therapy into a transcending therapeutic treatment.
Cheryl Macphail, RMT
Cheryl’s passion for health and wellness was evident at a young age and continues to grow each day. In 2017, she moved to Newfoundland where she completed a Bachelor of Kinesiology (Co-op) with honours at Memorial University.
Cheryl returned to Nova Scotia in 2022 to pursue Massage Therapy at the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy. Within this program, she volunteered as a private peer tutor for other students in addition to leading anatomy tutorials for the class. Cheryl graduated with a diploma in Massage Therapy in May of 2023 with honours.
Cheryl is skilled in many types of massage, including postural dysfunctions and whiplash-related disorders. Since graduation, Cheryl has also spent a significant portion of her time treating those with PTSD, depression, and anxiety. Cheryl strongly believes in treating each client as a whole and works to create a safe place for clients to express their needs. When getting treated by Cheryl, you can expect to get an in-depth assessment and customized treatment plan that will help you meet your goals – whatever they may be!
In her spare time, you can find Cheryl hiking, hanging out in her hammock with a good book or at home with her two cats. Cheryl is always looking to learn more skills and expand her knowledge so that she can provide clients with the most effective treatment and get them back to doing what they love.
Kelsey Mitchell, RMT
Kelsey graduated from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy in 2022. She is highly skilled and excited to share her passion for helping people alleviate and manage their pain and stress through the extensive knowledge of the body she has gained. She specializes in various types and techniques of massage including: Trigger point therapy, myofascial release, manual lymph drainage, hydrotherapy, cupping, sports, and deep tissue.
She is experienced in tailoring treatment and home care plans to fit your specific needs and wants to ensure you get the most benefit out of your treatments. Kelsey is experienced with treating both chronic and acute conditions such as migraines, sprain/ strains, concussions, arthritis, chronic pain, concussions and anxiety. Kelsey loves learning and is committed to staying up to date with industry advancements. Some of her passions include strength training, yoga, travelling, hiking and a deep love for animals.
Dr. Kriya Siewrattan, HBSc, Naturopathic Doctor
Originally from the Caribbean Islands of Trinidad and Tobago, Dr. Kriya moved to Ontario with her family to pursue her studies. She was exposed to Naturopathic Medicine under challenging circumstances as her father was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer and part of his treatment included Naturopathic integrative cancer care. After his passing, she started seeing a Naturopathic Doctor and learned about the benefits of a healthy diet and active lifestyle to improve quality of life, as well as the uses of botanicals, supplements and Acupuncture. Her ND encouraged her to pursue a career in Naturopathic Medicine while she was still completing her undergraduate degree at the University of Toronto. She enrolled at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine and graduated with a Doctor of Naturopathy degree in 2020.
After graduation, Dr. Kriya moved to Nova Scotia to complete one year of training at the East Coast Naturopathic Clinic with Dr. Bryan Rade, ND where she gained valuable experience working with patients with chronic and complex conditions such as Lyme disease and co-infections, mold illness, heavy metal toxicity and cancer.
Dr. Kriya is licensed with the College of Naturopathic Doctors of Alberta (CNDA). She is a member of the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND) as well as the Nova Scotia Association of Naturopathic Doctors (NSAND). She has certifications in Naturopathic Injection Therapies, IV therapy and Facial Rejuvenation and Cosmetic Acupuncture.
Brittany Conrad BioScan MSA Practitioner
Brittany was born and raised in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. She began education in Dietetics at St. Francis Xavier where she played for the Varsity Women’s Rugby team. She completed her BSc. of Applied Human Nutrition with distinction at Mount Saint Vincent University and her Dietetic Internship with Nova Scotia Health Authority. Her interest in nutrition, health, and wellness began with her passion for competitive sports and feeling her best after a decline in her health following an injury.
Professionally she has had the opportunity to work in several areas of dietetics including individual counseling, community, clinical nutrition in hospitals, and health promotion. Brittany recognizes the positive impact nutrition and lifestyle changes can have on physical, mental, and emotional health and strives to share this with others. Both professional and personal experiences have led her to integrate science-based conventional and alternative approaches to health in her practice. Brittany is passionate about helping you feel your best and heal your body. Brittany takes a holistic approach in her assessments and care plan as everybody is unique!
